And that on top of the physical violence risk, which was always extreme, which is why we have so much respect for the police, they're doing stuff you and I don't want to do for the most part. But I would say that given now the legal and social risk on top of the violence risk, it looks different. I would say I would back the cops for a 30 percent raise minimum. And that's just based on how society has changed the risk that we're willing to put on the police now.
I would say that before you could argue, "But wait, we should put this risk on the police." That's not even the argument. So whether you think that the Floyd trial went just the way it should have or you don't, irrelevant. It doesn't matter any of that to my point that the police are in a new situation of risk. Whether they should be there or not is a separate question. But they are there and it's different and it's more risk. Risk-reward suggests that police should get, I would say, a minimum of a 30 percent raise because I don't know how you could retain them otherwise.
