ho had a press that only reported the news. There's always criticism of the president no matter what. So you know, probably Obama would have had a higher approval also if nobody ever criticized him and just reported the straight news. So it works both ways.

Anyway, it's hilarious to see that one of the biggest changes from earlier US history is that it used to be there was the news and then there was the stuff they reported on. And you can imagine those two things as separate things. There are the things that are actually happening in the world, and then there are news organizations which talk about those things. But they're different things. Today they're the same thing. Today the news is what the news organizations are creating. So they're not looking at it and talking about it. They're actually making it. The news is the news the news industry manufactures. The news now is no longer reporting. It's creation. It's art. It's persuasion. So that's very different.
